The dirt road to our farm is unfortunately in poor condition and although a 4x4 is not necessary, low clearance vehicles are not recommended.
We are 1/1.5 hour’s drive on the dirt road from Kareedouw.
Our farm is not suitable for daily trips to and from the tar/coast
Directions From the East
GPS co-ordinates: S 33° 46.56’ E 24° 09.95’
Take R102 or N2 west from Humansdorp and turn off onto R62 towards Kareedouw (Langkloof road)
From R62, 2km before Kareedouw, turn off right onto dirt road signposted: Assegaaibosstasie/Suuranys. (You have gone too far if you pass the Assegaaibosch Country Lodge on your left)
NB: Take odometer reading here – km readings listed below are all from this point. (ie. NOT from each previous point)
Turn left after bridge over Krom River and keep left to go up and over Suuranys Pass.
+/- 9km – keep left at T-junction. Past Zuuranys farm.
+/- 17km. Kouga River Canyon. Careful of blind, sharp left turn as approaching canyon!
+/- 19km. Turn off left signposted: Joubertskraal. Road gets worse from here.
+/- 28km. Pass through farm house cluster of Sewefontein/Drogheda. Please close any closed gates behind you.
+/- 32km. Cattle grid is our farm boundary
+/- 34km. Take ‘turning circle’ left to make the sharp right turn through our top gate.

Total distance on dirt 35.5km, will take at least an hour. Take it easy and enjoy the view!

(Your GPS may direct you to take an earlier turn off the R62. Sign posted Suuranys/Boplaas. This road is fine. Exact same distance overall but 10km longer on dirt. A bit quicker because you avoid the winding and slow Suuranys Pass but less scenic. Stay straight on the this road and after about 20km you will join the road described above at the T junction just before Suuranys)
Directions From the West
Directions to Joubertskraal from west (N2 or Langkloof)

Turn off N2 27km past Storms River Bridge left to Kareedouw (Eersterivier turnoff). Over pass turn right at T junction onto …..
R62 (Langkloof Rd) and go through Kareedouw towards Humansdorp.
